39 People Killed, Dozens Wounded in Bomb Blast in Pakistan

At least 39 people were killed and dozens more wounded Sunday by a bomb blast in Bajaur District, northwest Pakistan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Inspector General of Police Akhtar, Hayat Khan, said the blast took place during a political gathering of a leading Islamic party in northwest Pakistan which should have been addressed by a prominent leader, but the bomb blast happened prior to his arrival claiming the lives of 39 persons.

For his part, the Health Minister for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Riaz Anwar confirmed that 39 persons were killed and 123 injured among them 17 persons in critical condition.

No entity has claimed responsibility for the bomb blast.
