Cairo: The 28th Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information convened today in Cairo, chaired by Egypt. The session included the participation of several Arab ministers of communications, along with a delegation from the Arab League's Secretariat General led by Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector Ambassador Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Malki.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was led by Supervisor General of the Research Development and Innovation Authority Dr. Mohammed bin Awad Al-Otaibi. The agenda addressed various significant topics, particularly the challenges facing the telecommunications sector in Palestine following the Gaza Strip conflict. Additionally, the session endorsed the Arab Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and discussed developing an Arab perspective on the global digital charter, which was released during the Future Summit in September 2024 in conjunction with the UN General Assembly. Efforts were also made to align this perspective with the Arab digital agenda.
