Riyadh: The National Competitiveness Center's (NCC) Public Consultation Platform, Istitlaa, has unveiled 21 projects focused on economic and development affairs. In collaboration with 14 government bodies, the NCC is extending an invitation to the general public, government entities, and the private sector to provide their insights and feedback on these projects before they receive approval.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has introduced a significant project on the Istitlaa platform, titled 'Update of Municipal Requirements for Transportation Service Centers.' This initiative seeks to enhance the monitoring and tracking of vehicles and carriers within urban areas to maintain cleanliness. Feedback from the public on this project will be welcomed until October 6, 2025.
The Eastern Region Municipality has presented a notable project on the Istitlaa platform, named 'Eastern Province Municipality Commercial Sign Guide.' The project's goal is to create and offer a shared, accessible database where all requirements related to commercial signage are clearly defined. Public input on this project is open until October 7, 2025.
The National Competitiveness Center is also inviting public feedback on a proposed regulatory framework called 'Arbitration Law.' This project aims to advance and update the regulatory framework for arbitration to align with global best practices. Public consultation for this initiative will remain open until October 24, 2025.
The Ministry of Interior has proposed a project on the Istitlaa platform titled 'Amendments to Traffic Law.' This project plans to establish a unified body responsible for overseeing weigh stations, setting appropriate weight and size restrictions for goods vehicles, and defining violation fines based on the financial impact of overloading on road quality and infrastructure. Public feedback on this project is open until October 28, 2025.
The introduction of draft regulations and similar projects through the Istitlaa platform underscores a commitment to increased transparency within the legislative environment. Furthermore, Istitlaa promotes a culture of public participation by allowing citizens, government agencies, and the private sector to share their perspectives and feedback on proposed regulations concerning the business environment.
