The Saudi Esports Federation announced holding the second edition of the “Next World Forum 2023”, with the participation of leaders and experts in the sector, on the 30th of August.

This year’s forum, which will take place in Riyadh, will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel over two days and will bring together prominent personalities and leaders in the fields of games, Esports, entertainment, and technology from around the world to exchange ideas and explore new opportunities in the rapidly evolving world of electronic games. The second edition of the “Next World Forum” aims to stimulate sustainable impact on the sector’s future.

Architecture and Design Commission Inaugurates Saudi Pavilion at London Design Biennale

The Architecture and Design Commission inaugurated the Saudi pavilion at the 4th edition of the “London Design Biennale” held at “Somerset House” in London. The ceremony, held under the theme “Remapping Collaboration,” was attended by the CEO of the Commission, Dr. Sumaya Al-Sulaiman, as well as several officials from the British government and other countries.

The Saudi pavilion at the biennale showcases an artwork titled “Mansooj” or “Woven,” created in collaboration with the curator and designer Ruba Al-Khaldi, an expert in innovation and strategic design, and the curator and designer Lojain Rafaa, known for her work with organic and modern materials.

The “Mansooj” artwork provides visitors with an interactive and creative experience, where their visions of the future come together to shape the fabric of humanity. This tapestry emulates the traditional craft of Sadu art, with each visitor participating in the braiding of the thread, drawing inspiration from their own ideas, uniqueness, and aspirations for the future. As the threads intertwine in perfect harmony, a distinct and captivating design is formed.

Makkah Municipality Prepares Five Parking Lots at Makkah Entrances in Preparation for Hajj Season

Makkah Municipality, represented by the Agency for Operation and Maintenance, has completed the preparation of five parking lots spread situated at the entrances to Makkah, with a total area of 1.88 million square meters, to receive vehicles during the Hajj season 1444 AH.

The Municipality stated that it places great importance on the parking lots due to their critical need during the Hajj season in reducing the burden by providing appropriate parking inside Makkah during this time. It also added that several technical teams had been formed to prepare the parking lots during the season to provide the best services to pilgrims and enable them to perform their rituals safely and comfortably.

General Presidency for Two Holy Mosques’ Affairs Organizes “Presidency’s Plan for Hajj Season 1444 AH” Panel Discussion

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque organized a panel discussion titled “The Presidency’s Plan for the Hajj Season 1444 AH”, in the presence of the President of the General Presidency Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais.

The participants discussed several pillars of the plan, including integration and coordination among the presidency’s agencies, governance of the operational plan, and defining responsibilities and tasks.

Dr. Al-Sudais stressed the importance of integration and partnership among all relevant entities for the success of the operational plan for this year’s Hajj season and the need to adhere to quality standards in providing services to the pilgrims.

Ministry of Energy: Saudi Arabia will implement an additional voluntary cut in its production of crude oil, amounting to one million barrels per day, starting in July for a month that can be extended

An official source in the Ministry of Energy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced that, in addition to what was agreed upon in the OPEC+ meeting today, June 4, 2023, for the required production level for each country for the year 2024, and what the OPEC+ countries that previously announced in April voluntary cuts until the end of 2023 and extended their voluntary cuts until the end of 2024, the Kingdom will implement an additional voluntary cut in its production of crude oil, amounting to one million barrels per day, starting in July for a month that can be extended, so that the Kingdom’s production becomes 9 million barrel per day, and the Kingdom’s total voluntary cut will be 1.5 million barrels per day.

The source explained that the Kingdom’s additional voluntary cut comes to reinforce the precautionary efforts made by OPEC Plus countries with the aim of supporting the stability and balance of oil markets.

Al-Rayyan, Al-Wakra Win Matches in HH the Amir Men’s Basketball Cup

Al-Rayyan and Al-Wakra basketball teams achieved today great victories in the 24th edition of HH the Amir Men’s Basketball Cup for the sports season 2022 – 2023.

Al-Rayyan beat Al-Arabi and Al-Wakra defeated Qatar in the second group’s final matches.

In the first match, Al-Rayyan, the league champion, maintained its chances of qualifying for the semi-finals after defeating Al-Arabi with 91-79, a difference of 12 points.

The results of the match were 23-15, 12-25, 19-19, 37-20 for Al-Rayyan.

In the second match, Al-Wakra scored its second successive victory and strengthened its chances of qualifying for the semi-finals after overcoming Qatar with 89-81, a difference of 8 points.

Its results were 26-18, 19-22, 21-14, 23-27 for Al-Wakra.

Al Duhail SC Defeats Al Kuwait SC in 25th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship

Al Duhail SC first handball team achieved today an important victory against Al Kuwait SC of Kuwait by 38-35.

This was the Qatari club’s second win in the 25th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship, held in Esfahan, Iran, until June 10, with the championship being a qualifier for the 2023 edition of the IHF Men’s Super Globe.

With this win, the Qatari club is on top of Group B and is approaching the semifinal round.

Al Duhail SC had won its first match on Thursday, against the Uzbek team RKOR Tashkent by 39-26, only to lose in its second match on Friday, against Bahrain’s Al Najma Club with a score of 26-28.

The Qatari team will rest on Sunday, before facing off China’s Junior Club on Monday, to then conclude its group stage matches by competing against Iranian Shahid Shameli Kazeroon Club on Tuesday.

Turkish President Announces New Cabinet Formation

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced this evening the formation of his new cabinet.

The announcement of the new cabinet formation comes hours after Erdogan was sworn in as President of Turkiye for a new term, after winning the presidential election runoff, that took place on Sunday.

At a press conference in Ankara, Erdogan announced that the cabinet formation included a vice president and 16 ministers.

Cevdet Yilmaz was chosen as Vice President.

Offshore will be slight dust at times, the report added, warning of strong wind and high sea.

Wind inshore will be northwesterly to northeasterly 05 to 15 KT gusting to 24 KT at places daytime.

Offshore, it will be northwesterly 05 to 15 KT gusting 18 KT at places shifts to northeasterly later.

Visibility will be 4 to 08/02 kilometers or less at places at times.

Sea state inshore will be 1 to 3 FT. US debt ceiling bill pushes gold prices back to USD 1,948

Gold prices fell back in last week’s trading to close at USD 1,948 an ounce, following US senate debt ceiling bill.

A report issued by local Dar Al-Sabaek mentioned that the recently signed bill reinvigorated investors’ sense of risk-taking as it lessened fears of US falling back on debt payments; causing the US dollar to regain its strength.

US treasury bonds yield also directly increased following the debt ceiling bill, this along with American data reflecting strong labor market, effectively decreased gold prices 1.3 percent.

As long as American data shows continuous improvements, investors will continue to stray away from the precious metal, indicated the report, adding that gold prices would rejuvenate should the US put stop to interest rate increase policy.

Gold August futures retreated by 26 dollars an ounce, whereas US dollar indicator against other main currencies increased 0.5 percent to 104 points.

On a local scale, the report stated that the price of a 24-carat gram reached KD 19.48, whereas the 21-carat gram reached KD 17.
