Saudi arabia: Saudi Arabia is entering a new stage on its journey to host the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027, with 150 days remaining until the start of the 19th edition of the continental tournament. The competition will be held in the Kingdom for the first time from January 7 to February 5, 2027.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the tournament will bring together 24 Asian national teams competing over 30 days in 51 matches hosted by Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al-Khobar. The upcoming edition will feature a strong field, including several of the continent's leading national teams and teams that appeared at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The tournament's final draw was held in May in the historic At-Turaif District in Diriyah, placing the Saudi national team in Group A alongside Kuwait, Oman, and Palestine. The Green Falcons will begin their campaign against Palestine in Riyadh. They will be seeking their fourth Asian title after winning the tournament in 1984, 1988, and 1996.
The first phase of personal interviews for applicants to the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 volunteer program began last week in Eastern Region. More than 3,000 interviews are being conducted in Al-Khobar, with interviews to continue later in Riyadh and Jeddah.
