Riyadh: The Ministry of Interior conducted inspection campaigns in the Kingdom between June 12 and June 18 to ensure compliance with residency, labor, and border security laws.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the inspections yielded significant results across the Kingdom, recording 12,066 violations. These violations included 7,333 of residency, 3,060 of border security, and 1,673 of labor laws. Additionally, 1,206 individuals were apprehended for attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom illegally, comprising 32% Yemenis, 65% Ethiopians, and 03% other nationalities. Furthermore, 71 individuals were arrested for attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally.
The Ministry also reported the arrest of 21 people involved in transporting, sheltering, and employing violators. Currently, 13,238 expatriates, including 12,015 men and 1,223 women, are undergoing procedures to enforce regulations. Out of these, 6,244 individuals were detained for law violations and instructed to contact their countries' embassies or consulates to obtain proper travel documentation. Meanwhile, 2,209 were advised to make booking arrangements for their departure, and 7,238 have already been repatriated.
The Ministry of Interior has issued a warning that individuals facilitating illegal entry into the Kingdom, providing transport, shelter, or any assistance to violators may face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SAR1 million. Vehicles used for transportation or houses used for sheltering may also be confiscated. The ministry emphasized that such acts are major crimes that warrant arrest and urged citizens to report any violations by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom.
