ZATCA Thwarts Two Attempts to Smuggle Hashish, Prohibited Pills

Dammam: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has thwarted two smuggling attempts, seizing 1.9 kilograms of hashish at King Fahd International Airport and 11,096 prohibited pills at King Khalid International Airport. ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to have the individual who was supposed to receive the consignments arrested.

According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA reaffirmed its commitment to intensify customs control of the Kingdom's imports and exports, stressing that it will stay vigilant to thwart smuggling attempts and ensure the safety of society.

It urged the public to contribute to combating smuggling by contacting the authority at the designated number for security reports, 1910, via e-mail: [email protected], or through the international number 009661910.

Through these channels, ZATCA receives reports concerning smuggling and violations of the provisions of the Common Customs Law that it treats with utmost confidentiality. A financial reward is given to the informer if the tip proves true.
