Al-haditha: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at the Al-Haditha border crossing thwarted an attempt to smuggle 47,927 Captagon pills concealed in a truck entering the Kingdom.
According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi stated that the drugs were discovered when the truck underwent customs procedures and inspections using security technologies upon arrival. Following the seizure, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, leading to the arrest of four individuals identified as the recipients of the seized narcotics within the Kingdom.
Al-Harbi affirmed that ZATCA continues to tighten customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports, standing guard against all smuggling attempts. This vigilance aligns with a key pillar of its strategy: enhancing the security and protection of society by reducing attempts to smuggle prohibited items.
The spokesperson urged the public to contribute to anti-smuggling efforts by providing confidential reports through the designated channels, including the security reports number 1910, the email address [email protected], or the international number 009661910. Financial rewards are granted for accurate information leading to a seizure.
