ZATCA Conducts Extensive Inspections in Saudi Arabia During Q3 2026

Tunis:The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) executed over 59,000 inspection visits to markets and commercial establishments throughout Saudi Arabia in the third quarter of 2026, working in collaboration with relevant authorities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the inspections targeted various commercial sectors, with a focus on retail, gold, and tobacco shops. The primary violations identified included the failure to issue electronic invoices, failure to collect value-added tax (VAT), and the sale of tobacco products without tax stamps.

ZATCA stated that these visits are part of efforts to enhance compliance with the Kingdom's tax regulations, promote tax fairness, and prevent commercial practices that breach rules and regulations under its jurisdiction.

The authority also encouraged consumers to report tax violations using the ZATCA app. It offers a financial reward to those reporting violations, amounting to 2.5% of the fines imposed, with a minimum reward of SAR1,000 and a maximum of SAR1 million.
