ZAKATY Platform Surpasses SAR1 Billion Since Launch

General

Dammam: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) announced that the total zakat amounts received through the ZAKATY platform, which is designated for voluntary individual zakat, have exceeded SAR1 billion since its launch nearly nine years ago. This marks an achievement that reflects growing public confidence in the platform and its role in enabling the efficient, direct delivery of zakat to eligible beneficiaries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this achievement builds on ZATCA's efforts to develop an integrated digital ecosystem that enables individuals, on a voluntary basis, to calculate and pay their zakat easily and securely through reliable channels, ensuring funds reach all categories of social security beneficiaries. The milestone reached by the ZAKATY platform reflects the scale of voluntary participation by individual zakat payers, as well as growing public awareness of the platform, user confidence, and the ease of performing zakat digitally.

ZATCA Spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi said the ZAKATY platform represents an advanced model in leveraging technology to serve the third pillar of Islam, offering a smart calculator for various types of zakat, including cash, gold and silver, shares, investment funds, real estate, and others. The platform also provides multiple secure payment options, in addition to zakat due-date reminders and other features, which have contributed to enhancing user experience and increasing service utilization among individuals.

Al-Harbi added that reaching this figure reflects the success and alignment of efforts to advance digital transformation in the zakat sector and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in building an integrated digital economy, while strengthening social solidarity through innovative and reliable solutions.
