Young Peregrine Falcon Sold for SAR211,000 at Saudi Auction

Riyadh:A young peregrine falcon, known as a farkh shaheen, was sold for SAR211,000 at the National Center for Falcons Auction on its ninth night. The falcon, captured by nine trappers in Al-Muwailih, had an initial bidding price of SAR100,000.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the auction, which continues until November 30, is exclusively for young migratory peregrine falcons caught within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The auction excludes adult peregrine falcons and saker falcons to aid in their population preservation efforts.

The National Center for Falcons facilitates the participation of trappers by providing accommodation and transportation to the auction site. Additionally, the auction sessions are broadcast live on television and various social media platforms.
