Riyadh: The Ministry of Interior, in partnership with Tuwaiq Academy, launched the world's largest hackathon today, 'Absher Tuwaiq,' running from December 11 to 13 at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event is part of the Absher Conference 2025, held under the patronage of Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, and involves more than 4,000 Saudi participants from across the Kingdom.

The hackathon offers participants the chance to win up to SAR1 million in prizes, including three seats in the MVPLAB product program sponsored by the National Technology Development Program. The initiative aims to empower over 100,000 men and women across the Kingdom and develop exceptional national talent, strengthening Saudi Arabia's global position in advanced technologies and digital transformation.

Organized in strategic partnership with the Saudi Data and AI Authority, the hackathon features four tracks: artificial intelligence and security forecasting; digital identity and security applications; Internet of Things and field technologies; and innovation and development of Absher services.

Participating teams work to build innovative technological solutions in a competitive and collaborative setting over three consecutive days under the supervision of specialists and experts from various technical fields.

The Absher Conference will take place from December 17 to 19, also in partnership between the Ministry of Interior and Tuwaiq Academy, with Elm Company as the main sponsor. Marking a decade since the launch of the Absher Forum, the conference adopts a new concept and approach, showcasing the latest national digital innovations and reaffirming the Kingdom's global leadership across various fields.
