Riyadh: The World Bank Group (WBG) has announced the opening of registration for the "World Bank Group Saudi Fellowship Program," scheduled to run from May 20 to June 9. This initiative, launched in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Finance, seeks to nurture national talent by offering opportunities for candidates to work at WBG headquarters in Washington, D.C., or at one of its regional offices globally.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the program provides a high-level professional experience for those passionate about international development. Selected fellows will be involved in WBG projects focusing on areas such as policy and strategy formulation, development program design, and tackling significant global challenges like poverty. This work will be in collaboration with governments, the private sector, and civil society in developing nations.
In previous iterations, the program attracted a notable group of young Saudi professionals, enhancing their technical skills in critical development areas and boosting the Kingdom's representation within the World Bank Group.
The fellowship underscores ongoing efforts by the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the Kingdom's Executive Director's Office at the WBG to encourage Saudi participation in international organizations and empower nationals to play an active role in global development initiatives.
A virtual introductory session is being conducted today, May 22, to inform interested individuals about the program's objectives, admission criteria, and application procedures, as well as to facilitate connections with WBG recruitment specialists.
