Riyadh: A workshop on licensing mechanisms for falcon breeding centers in Saudi Arabia, organized yesterday by the National Center for Falcons as part of the International Falcon Breeders Auction 2026 activities, reviewed the steps for obtaining licenses, the basic requirements for establishing and operating breeding centers, and the electronic services provided by the National Center for Wildlife (NCW) through the Fitri platform.
According to Saudi Press Agency, NCW Licensing and Permits Director Mohammed Al-Mugren gave a presentation on the regulatory framework for wildlife breeding centers. He noted that the regulations focus on responsible breeding, species conservation, protection of genetic diversity, application of animal welfare standards, and compliance with regulatory controls.
Al-Mugren reviewed the mechanism for issuing licenses electronically, which begins with the beneficiary submitting an application through the Fitri platform. Specialists then review the application and verify that all requirements are met before referring it to the relevant department for final approval. Once approved, the beneficiary pays the applicable fee and receives the license. The application review process takes five business days.
The workshop also highlighted the Fitri platform's performance indicators. The total number of licenses and permits issued through the platform has exceeded 531,000, with more than 135,000 registered users. Beneficiary satisfaction reached 92.2%, while the average license issuance time stood at 4.5 days, and annual growth in licenses reached 39%.
