Andong: Wildfires reignited on Saturday in the Republic of Korea's city of Andong.

According to Saudi Press Agency, an official from Korea's forest service stated in a press briefing that authorities had deployed eight helicopters to combat the rekindled fires in Andong. The official added that more helicopters are planned to be dispatched to the area.

The death toll from the forest fires that erupted last weekend in Korea has risen to 29, with 40 others injured, including 10 in critical condition.

These wildfires are the deadliest and most destructive in Korea's history, surpassing the April 2000 fires that devastated 23,913 hectares along the eastern coast.
