The Madinah branch of the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases (Weqaa), in partnership with Saudi Aramco, held a workshop raising awareness about rabies, to coincide with World Rabies Day, observed on September 28. The workshop aimed to educate specialists and animal owners about the causes, types, and risks of rabies. It also discussed the efforts of government agencies and international organizations to eradicate the disease by 2030. Weqaa is working to address rabies through various initiatives across Saudi Arabia. These include raising awareness, implementing preventive measures, and enhancing national capabilities in animal vaccination and emergency response. Source: Saudi Press Agency
