WBC Boxing Grand Prix’s First Stage Concludes in Riyadh, 64 Fighters Prepare for June Showdowns

Riyadh: The first stage of the WBC Boxing Grand Prix tournament concluded Sunday evening at the Boulevard Riyadh City, drawing a remarkable crowd and extensive media coverage. A total of 128 boxers from more than 40 countries competed throughout the four-day event.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the action unfolded at the BLVD City Global Theater, featuring 64 bouts across the four classes of featherweight, super lightweight, middleweight, and heavyweight, conducted in a single elimination format.

After fierce clashes, 64 boxers secured their spots in the next stage of the tournament, set to take place in Riyadh from June 20 to 22. This next round will showcase 32 bouts, determining who advances to the later stages.

The competition is set to ramp up again in August and October, culminating in the grand finale on December 20 in the Saudi capital. World champions will be crowned across four final bouts, each vying for the WBC Grand Prix title in their respective categories.
