Jeddah: Jeddah Historic District continued to attract visitors during the holy month of Ramadan, recording more than three million visitors in the third week of Ramadan 1447 AH. This reflects the growing turnout for Ramadan events in the area and the cultural programs and heritage experiences that capture the spirit of the holy month and highlight the richness of the region's cultural and social heritage.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the area witnessed a notable presence of visitors who came to explore its historic architectural landmarks and stroll through its neighborhoods and traditional markets. Visitors enjoyed a program of Ramadan activities, including tours of historic houses and heritage sites, visits to historic mosques, cultural and artistic events, heritage experiences, and traditional markets. There were also activities tailored for families and visitors, all within an atmosphere that reflects the city's cultural identity.
Organizing the Ramadan season comes within the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Culture to revitalize Jeddah Historic District, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The alleys and historic squares of Al-Balad have been transformed into spaces attracting residents and visitors to enjoy Ramadan experiences that combine cultural heritage, social activities, and interactive experiences.
