The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) urgently calls for the evacuation of sick and injured children from Gaza, warning they will die without immediate action. UNICEF spokesperson James Elder stated that 2,500 children are in critical condition, and at the current rate of medical evacuations, it would take over seven years to get them all out. He highlighted the severity of their injuries, including head wounds, amputations, burns, and cancer. Elder added that children are dying due to heartless bureaucracy, and their suffering is worsening, even though they could be saved with proper care. He emphasized that after a year of war and atrocities committed by the Israeli army, urgent medical evacuations are essential to alleviate the suffering of these children. Source: Saudi Press Agency
