UNESCO Creative City Taif Welcomes Book Lovers for Third Writers and Readers Festival

General

Taif: The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission yesterday launched the third edition of the Writers and Readers Festival in Taif. Running until January 15, the festival welcomes visitors daily from 4:00 pm to midnight, providing a vibrant, contemporary space that celebrates the bond between authors and audiences of all ages.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Commission CEO Abdullatif Alwasel highlighted the event's alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, emphasizing that the commission aims to enhance the quality of life by integrating culture into daily routines, expanding knowledge horizons, and empowering citizens to play an active role in the Kingdom's intellectual and cultural development.

The festival's location is particularly significant, as Taif is the first city in the Kingdom to be designated a UNESCO Creative City of Literature. This third edition honors that legacy by blending the city's deep historical charm with the spirit of modern innovation.

The event serves as a comprehensive destination, offering diverse entertainment and cultural activities designed to foster a lifelong love for reading and writing.
