Riyadh: UNESCO's Global Education Monitoring Report 2026 (GEM Report) praised the blended learning system at Saudi Electronic University, highlighting its significant role in expanding access to higher education and promoting educational equity.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the report highlighted that e-learning and blended learning are among the Kingdom's most significant solutions for removing barriers to female enrollment in higher education. At Saudi Electronic University, the enrollment rate of female students nearly doubled between 2018 and 2024, clearly demonstrating the effectiveness of this educational model.
The report recognized Saudi Electronic University as a pioneering model for implementing blended learning, emphasizing its key role in driving significant transformation in the Kingdom's education sector.
The UNESCO report also emphasized online and blended learning as among the most important enablers of a transformative leap in the Kingdom's higher education system.
