Riyadh: The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA-OIC), in coordination with member news agencies across 57 countries and in collaboration with international media partners, provided extensive coverage of the Hajj season 1446 AH. This coverage highlighted Saudi Arabia's exceptional efforts and outstanding services in facilitating pilgrims' rituals and enriching their spiritual experience.
According to Saudi Press Agency, UNA-OIC published more than 150 reports and news items about the Hajj season in over 50 languages on international media platforms, both within and beyond the Islamic world, including 50 European television channels.
Under a media cooperation agreement with the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, the union translated the Arafah, Eid Al-Adha, and Friday sermons delivered during this year's Hajj season. These translations reached over 80 million viewers, followers, and beneficiaries across the Islamic world.
UNA-OIC also launched a live broadcast service on its digital platform to stream Hajj and Umrah rituals from the holy sites, providing member agencies and international media outlets with direct, reliable access to Hajj-related news. This initiative enhances media cooperation among news agencies covering this significant religious event.
