Riyadh: The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) held a virtual introductory meeting today on the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). In his opening remarks, UNA-OIC Director General Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbo Al-Yami highlighted the commission's commitment to activating its media role and raising awareness of one of its most significant outcomes: the Jeddah Declaration 2025 on youth empowerment, development, and peace. He noted that the declaration serves as a comprehensive framework for shaping youth-related policies across OIC member states.
According to Saudi Press Agency, IPHRC Executive Director Dr. Hadi Al-Yami stated that the Jeddah Declaration 2025 seeks to empower young people as a human rights, development, and security priority. He emphasized that youth are recognized as partners in peace, drivers of development, and bearers of both rights and responsibilities within their societies.
