Riyadh: Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Saudi Reef) Secretary-General Ghassan Bakri received a first-class medal of honor for sustainable development from the United Nations in recognition of his leadership role in advancing the program's objectives and enhancing its developmental impact in the rural sector. This international honor recognizes his supervision of initiatives to empower small-scale agricultural producers, improve rural productivity and efficiency, and develop agricultural value chains, thereby strengthening access to local markets for rural products and reinforcing the sustainability of agricultural activities.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the UN recognition also reflects the program's efforts to strengthen international partnerships for the exchange of expertise in sustainable agriculture and to develop initiatives on food security, thereby supporting the agricultural production ecosystem and improving resource efficiency.
