New york: The United Nations General Assembly today overwhelmingly adopted the New York Declaration, a resolution outlining concrete and time-bound steps toward a two-state solution for the Palestinian issue, with 142 votes in favor, 10 against, and 12 abstentions.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the seven-page document is the result of an international conference hosted by Saudi Arabia and France at the UN last July. The declaration condemns the Israeli attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, the blockade, and starvation. It also supports the deployment of a temporary international stabilization mission in Gaza while emphasizing the urgent need to end the war immediately.
