UK premier rules out supplying Ukraine with cluster bombs

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has ruled out supplying cluster bombs to Ukraine, stating that London “will instead pressure countries to increase their aid to Kyiv in other ways.” The Guardian quoted Sunak Saturday as saying, “The United Kingdom is a signatory to an agreement that prohibits the production or use of cluster munitions and does not encourage their use.” He said the UK would continue to support Ukraine against “the Russian invasion,” calling it “illegal and unjustified.” He added that the UK had provided Ukraine with heavy battle tanks and long-range weapons.
