Dubai: The United Arab Emirates represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has signed an Air Services Agreement (ASA) with the Government of Algeria and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for updating ASA inked in Abu Dhabi on 4th February 1992.
The agreement was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi – Director General of the UAE GCAA and Masoud bin Shamam, Director General of Algerian Directorate of Civil Aviation and Meteorology (DACM), Ministry of Transport.
The signed ASA allows full flexibility on the routes, capacity, number of frequencies and types of aircraft, in any type of service (passenger or cargo) including the exercise of third and fourth freedoms of traffic rights.
Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of open sky agreements like the one signed with Algeria, which would contribute to boosting the trade, tourism and investment between UAE and Algeria.
