Two Holy Mosques Witness Over 66 Million Visitors During Jumada Al-Awwal 1447 AH

Mecca: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque announced that the total number of visitors to the Two Holy Mosques during Jumada Al-Awwal 1447 AH reached 66,633,153, reflecting an increase of 12,121,252 visitors compared to the previous month.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the number of worshippers at the Grand Mosque was 25,987,679, with 100,489 worshippers specifically in Hijr Ismail (Al-Hateem). Additionally, the number of Umrah performers reached 13,972,780.

The report further indicated that the Prophet's Mosque welcomed 23,296,185 worshippers during the same period, including 912,695 in Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah. Moreover, 2,363,325 visitors paid their respects to the Prophet and his two companions.

The authority employs advanced technology with sensor readers to track the number of worshippers and pilgrims at the main entrances of both mosques. This approach aims to enhance operational efficiency by monitoring visitor flows and crowd sizes, enabling relevant authorities to manage the crowds effectively in collaboration with associated entities.
