Mecca: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has launched a new smart interactive maps service aimed at improving wayfinding for visitors and Umrah performers at the Two Holy Mosques. The initiative, led by CEO Eng. Ghazi Al-Shahrani, marks a significant step in spatial guidance, offering real-time information and updated routes to facilitate safe and efficient movement.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the interactive maps are part of the authority's broader digital transformation strategy, integrating smart technologies to better serve worshippers. Eng. Al-Shahrani emphasized that this service is part of an integrated digital ecosystem that provides location-based guidance. The system uses live operational data linked to operations rooms to help direct visitors to optimal routes, especially during periods of congestion or temporary closures.

Eng. Waheeb Al-Mutrafi, Director of Business Solutions at the authority, highlighted the role of these maps in supporting location-based reports and improving access to electric carts. By utilizing a smart platform built on extensively verified field data, the service aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve the quality of services offered to worshippers.
