The Jordan Tourism Board has concluded its participation in the 2024 International Tourism Exhibition, held in Rimini, Italy, from October 9 to 11. The event saw the involvement of 35 tourism offices, as well as Royal Jordanian. Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and Chairperson of the Board, Lina Annab, emphasized the significance of Jordan's participation in the exhibition, describing it as the largest platform in Italy for promoting global tourism. She noted that Jordan was represented through a distinctive pavilion, which highlighted the country's tourism offerings to a global audience. "The exhibition provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationships between suppliers and distribution channels in the tourism industry, address key challenges facing the sector, and present strategies for its growth," Annab said in a statement on Sunday. Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board, Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, explained that Jordan's participation aimed to bolster its reputation as a unique touri st destination by promoting sustainable tourism and cultural experiences. He also highlighted the Board's efforts to expand its network of international partners and explore new cooperation opportunities to boost the tourism industry. Arabiyat underscored the importance of the event for maintaining communication with global travel agents, particularly in reinforcing Jordan's presence in the European market. Deputy Director General of the Board, Wael Rousan, added that the Jordan Tourism Board conducted numerous meetings over the three-day exhibition, engaging with the media, travel agents, and tourism specialists to promote Jordan and attract more visitors. Rousan also pointed out the significance of the Italian market, noting that 127,000 Italian tourists visited Jordan last year, though the numbers have declined this year due to regional political circumstances.
