Thunderstorms and Rain Expected in Several Saudi Arabian Regions

Jazan:Moderate to heavy thunderstorms, which could lead to flash floods and be accompanied by hail and gusty, dust-stirring winds, are anticipated in parts of the Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, and Makkah regions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the National Center for Meteorology also forecasts light to moderate rain showers over parts of the Madinah region. Fog may form over these regions as well as the coastal parts of the Eastern Region.

The weather conditions will also affect maritime activities. Over the Red Sea, winds are expected to be northwesterly to northerly at speeds of 20-40 km/h, and northwesterly to northeasterly at speeds of 10-50 km/h. Wave heights may vary from half a meter to over two meters, with the sea condition ranging from calm to choppy.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds will shift throughout the day, starting as northwesterly to northerly at speeds of 10-35 km/h, then changing to northeasterly to easterly, and finally to northwesterly at 10-25 km/h in the afternoon. Waves in the Arabian Gulf will range from half a meter to one meter, with calm sea conditions expected.
