Thunderstorms and Hail Expected in Several Saudi Regions

Riyadh: Thunderstorms accompanied by hail and dust-stirring winds are anticipated in parts of Al-Jouf, Tabuk, Madinah, Makkah, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, and Northern Borders regions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the National Center for Meteorology has issued a forecast for Thursday indicating rough weather conditions in these areas. The weather is expected to affect not only land but also maritime activities across the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf.

Wind conditions over the Red Sea are forecasted to be northwesterly to northerly at speeds ranging from 28 to 50 km/h in the northern and central parts. In the southern part, winds will shift to southeasterly to southwesterly at speeds of 20 to 40 km/h. Wave heights are projected to reach from one meter to three meters, suggesting that the sea will vary from calm to choppy conditions.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds will be southwesterly to southeasterly at speeds of 20 to 40 km/h. The waves are expected to range from one to two meters, with the sea remaining relatively calm.
