Thunderstorms and Flash Flood Alerts Issued Across Saudi Regions

General

Riyadh: Moderate to heavy thunderstorms are anticipated to strike several regions in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, potentially resulting in flash floods. These weather conditions are expected to be accompanied by hail and dust-stirring winds, particularly affecting Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, Al-Jouf, and Tabuk.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the National Center for Meteorology has also forecasted moderate rain showers in the Al-Baha, Aseer, and Jazan regions, with a possibility of fog forming in certain areas. The weather patterns suggest varying wind speeds over the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf, with the potential for significant wave activity.

Winds over the Red Sea are expected to transition from southeasterly to northeasterly in the northern and central parts, and from southeasterly to southerly in the southern part, with speeds ranging from 10-48 km/h. Predictions indicate that the waves could reach up to two meters, while the sea is expected to remain relatively calm.

In the Arabian Gulf, northerly to northwesterly winds will prevail in the central and southern parts, reaching speeds of 20-50 km/h. The resulting wave activity is expected to range from one meter to two and a half meters, with the sea conditions varying from calm to choppy.
