Thundershowers and Flash Floods Expected in Jazan, Aseer, and Other Regions

General

Riyadh: The National Center for Meteorology has predicted moderate to heavy thundershowers accompanied by hail and dust-stirring winds across several regions including Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah. This weather activity holds the potential to cause flash floods in these areas.

According to Saudi Press Agency, light to moderate thundershowers are expected in Najran, Eastern, Riyadh, Qassim, Northern Borders, and Tabuk regions. Despite the rainfall, temperatures are anticipated to remain high in Eastern, Northern Borders, and Madinah regions.

The forecast indicates that winds over the Red Sea will vary, with northwesterly to northerly winds blowing at speeds of 15-35 km/h in the northern part, and southwesterly to westerly winds at 15-50 km/h in the southern and central parts. The sea conditions are expected to be choppy with waves ranging from one meter to over two meters.

In the Arabian Gulf, the winds will be southeasterly to easterly, reaching speeds of 10-30 km/h. The waves are expected to be between half a meter and one and a half meters, making the sea relatively calm.
