The 7th edition of Aswan International Women Film Festival announces its jury members

The seventh edition of Aswan International Women Film Festival ( AIWFF) announced the jury members of its various competitions.

The seventh edition of AIWFF which will kick off from March 5-10 will witness the participation of 61 movies.

The features competition will be headed by acclaimed French director Julie Bertuccelli whose latest documentary “Jane Campion, La Femme Cinema” was screened at Cannes Film Festival.

Egyptian star Yasmine Raies, American costume designer Dana Schondelmeyer, Russian director Ksenia Okhapkina, and acclaimed film critic Magda Khairallah will serve as Feature competition jury members.

The short film competition jury members includes the Lebanese actress Madlaine Tabar, Brazilian director and producer Rodrigo Brum and Egyptian director Kawthar Younis.

The great Tunisian director Selma Baccar chairs the jury for the European Union Award for Best Euro-Mediterranean Film, and its members include Syrian actress Suzanne Najm El Din, director of the Amman Film Festival Nada Doumani, writer Dr. Nesma Youssef Idris, and producer Safi El Din Mahmoud.

President of the Academy of Arts Ghada Ghabara presides over the jury of the Egyptian Film Competition which includes in its membership the famed Egyptian actress Naglaa Badr, and director of the Casablanca Arab Film Festival Fatma El Nawali.

Three young critics who are Amal Magdy, Diaa Mostafa and Areej Gamal are participating in the jury of the Egyptian Film Critics Association.

The seventh edition of Aswan International Women Film Festival will honor the great Tunisian director, producer and politician Selma Baccar for her tremendous influence in the cinematic field being the first female Tunisian director who directed a feature-length film.

AIWFF announced that it will honor as well veteran Egyptian actress dubbed Egypt’s first star Nabila Ebeid, acclaimed TV presenter Dorria Sharaf Eldin, Spanish star Cuca Escribano and the award-winning Dutch director, screenwriter and producer Mijke De Jong.
