Riyadh-based Thaqafeyah TV channel had a comprehensive presentation of Saudi culture at the Riyadh International Book Fair, where it was present with a pavilion. The channel was launched last year by the Ministry of Culture to coincide with the National Day celebrations. It broadcasts Saudi cultural interests such as fashion, arts, and literature. Thaqafeyah highlighted Saudi Arabia's cultural diversity by documenting the cultural uniqueness of the Kingdom's 13 regions. It highlighted the diverse local dialects that reflect each region's heritage, the traditional dishes with their unique flavors, and the Ardah dance, which is part of the Saudi cultural identity. Thaqafeyah gives prominent coverage to the most important local and international cultural events, part of which was the Riyadh International Book Fair. The Thaqafeyah pavilion at the fair gave the voice over opportunity to attendees, encouraging young people in an attempt to attract new literary talent. It also created specialized cultural progra ms in which some 60 cultural icons from various fields and of different ages were enabled to spread cultural content in creative ways under the supervision of experts in the content industry. The pavilion was also equipped with photo-taking booth for attendees to take souvenir photos. Source: Saudi Press Agency
