Makkah: The Transport General Authority (TGA) continued its inspection and monitoring campaign in Makkah and Madinah to serve Umrah performers and worshippers during Ramadan, ensuring safe and smooth transportation services.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the TGA said inspection teams have been deployed and are operating around the clock at more than 20 locations, including entry points to the two holy cities and their key internal sites. Inspectors are tasked with closely tracking transport activity to ensure safe services for Umrah performers during the blessed month.
The authority stressed the importance of transport operators complying with regulations during Ramadan, including adhering to designated routes, obtaining the required licenses before operation, and refraining from entering areas subject to Hajj regulations without prior permits. Operators are also required to wear the approved uniform.
The TGA urged beneficiaries to use only licensed transport providers to ensure safe and reliable service.
Reports and inquiries can be submitted via the unified number (19929) or through the beneficiary care account on the social-media platform X, the authority noted.
