TGA Accredits Several Courses for AZDA Maritime Training Institute

Riyadh: The Transport General Authority (TGA) said today it accredited several specialized marine training courses for the AZDA marine institute, based in Ras Tanura, in accordance with the requirements of the 1978 International Standard of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), as amended. The accreditation was awarded based on the institute's adherence to the International Maritime Organization Standard Manual and TGA's accreditation requirements for training institutes and maritime colleges. The specialized courses include navigational and engineering roles, ship security, skilled deck operations, medical first aid, advanced fire extinguishing, and maritime English language proficiency, TGA said in a statement. TGA's objective, it said, is to introduce and implement advanced programs in the maritime transport industry to enhance operational efficiency and cultivate the skills of national professionals working in the sector.
