Jeddah: Tayebat International City of Science and Knowledge Museum stands as one of Jeddah's most prominent private cultural landmarks, showcasing the depth of Saudi history and the richness of its diverse civilizations. Through its scientific and visual content, the museum reflects the nation's identity and promotes awareness of heritage.
According to Saudi Press Agency, located in the Al-Faisaliyah district, the museum spans an area of 10,000 square meters and comprises 12 heritage-style buildings featuring over 365 exhibition halls, symbolically representing each day of the year. The halls house rare artifacts ranging from local heritage items to international antiquities representing various civilizations, all spread across four floors designed in the architectural style of old Jeddah homes.
Founded in 1989 by Sheikh Abdul Raouf Khalil, who dedicated more than 45 years to collecting and documenting historical and cultural artifacts, the museum officially opened to the public in 1999. It has since served as an educational and cultural platform that traces the evolution of human civilizations and acts as a knowledge hub preserving Saudi heritage for future generations.
Tayebat Museum continues its mission as a dynamic cultural institution, safeguarding national memory and reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to supporting private museums. It plays a vital role in highlighting Saudi Arabia's rich historical and cultural legacy within a broader cultural framework that places heritage at the center of the present and opens pathways to the future.
