According to Saudi Press Agency, the seventh edition of the festival, organized by Saudi Camel Sports, features 249 races, including five camel races for 78 men and women riders from eight countries, with total prize money exceeding SAR50 million.
Three races will be for men over a distance of five kilometers each, while two races will be for women over a distance of two kilometers. The winner of each race will receive a cash prize of SAR50,000, with awards extending to SAR5,000 for the competitor who finishes in tenth place.
The line-up includes camel riders from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Yemen, Bahrain, Algeria, and the United Kingdom.
The fifth edition of the festival introduced an international women's open race covering a distance of two kilometers, held for the first time on Saudi camel racing tracks, as part of efforts to develop women's sports.
The festival enjoys the generous support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, with the attention of Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal and the supervision of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Camel Sports Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz.
