Tabuk Municipality Enhances Food Safety Awareness at Honey and Agricultural Products Festival

Tabuk: The Municipality of Tabuk, through its food safety laboratory department, participated in the third edition of the Honey and Agricultural Products Festival organized by the regional branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.



According to Saudi Press Agency, the municipality set up an awareness booth to enhance food literacy among visitors. They conducted analyses of olive oil to measure acidity and performed honey quality tests using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to verify compliance with specifications. Optional tests for pesticide residues in fruits were also conducted, with samples analyzed at the main laboratory using Gas Chromatography (GC).



The booth featured an awareness corner educating visitors about food toxins, their causes, and food-borne bacteria. It provided information on proper food handling and storage for products like honey, olive oil, and pickles.



This participation reflects the region municipality’s commitment to improving food safety and collaborating with relevant authorities to raise community awareness and ensure high-quality food standards.
