Riyadh: The Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority is showcasing the Shamal Reserve for Sustainable Hunting as a prominent eco-tourism experience during the Winter at Darb Zubaida 2025 season. The Shamal Reserve spans over 2,000 square kilometers, combining authentic hunting heritage with a natural environment. It offers visitors hospitality, equipped accommodation, and safe hunting practices that ensure wildlife protection and sustainability.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this year, the reserve introduces the eco-lodge, featuring accommodation options ranging from 12-person to 31-person camps with sleeping tents, dining facilities, Bedouin tents, and outdoor areas. Specialized environmental and hunting guides will accompany guests. The reserve features prey species, including the houbara bustard, gazelles, and Arabian oryx. The houbara bustard is hunted using falcons, gazelles using saluki dogs or firearms, and Arabian oryx using firearms.
The authority stated the Shamal Reserve for Sustainable Hunting represents an advanced model in managing heritage-based natural experiences through integrated services and professional management, ensuring environmental compliance. The reserve enriches the Winter at Darb Zubaida season with an experience combining authenticity, nature, and professional organization.
