Kamchatka: Two powerful earthquakes struck off Russia's Kamchatka coast today.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the German Research Centre for Geosciences reported a 6.6-magnitude earthquake at a depth of 10 kilometers. This was followed shortly by another 6.7-magnitude quake off the eastern coast, also at a 10-kilometer depth.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre estimated the second earthquake's magnitude to be higher, at 7.4.
