Special exhibition of mummies held in China titled “Meet Ancient Egypt”

August 2022: The opening ceremony of an exhibition of Egyptian cultural relics entitled “Meet Ancient Egypt- Mummies Exhibition” was held at the Chinese Museum of Chengdu.

The exhibition includes 114 pieces of cultural relics from the Museum of Barcelona, Spain, including a gilded mummy sarcophagus, and 5 sarcophagi of a noble mummy, in addition to many animal mummies and ancient Egyptian statues.

The exhibition narrates the story of the changes in the concept of life and death in the ancient Egyptian civilization, according to China Radio International.

A team of archaeologists has found an image of a king carved in stone at the base of a huge prehistoric pyramid complex in northwest China, more than 70 meters (230 feet) high. The 4,200-year-old Chinese pyramid of Shimao, Shaanxi Province, is half the height of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
