Riyadh: The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and Umm Al-Qura newspaper have showcased the evolution of Saudi Arabia's security system at the exhibition accompanying the Security and History Dialogue Conference 2026. Their pavilion features media content, historical documents, and archival and contemporary photographs documenting the various stages of state-building, the consolidation of security and stability, and Saudi Arabia's path of development and growth.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the event, organized by the Ministry of Interior in Riyadh from September 6 to 8 under the theme 'Our History and Our Future: Security and Growth,' presents selections from the media archives of SPA and Umm Al-Qura. The archives document key national and security milestones from the reign of the Kingdom's founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, through the Kingdom's prosperous era of ongoing development and modernization across various fields.
The pavilion also features 10 historical documents highlighting important milestones in the Kingdom's security journey. These include the document establishing the Presidency of State Security during the reign of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Law of Regions during the reign of King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Documents also showcase the law regulating the sale and possession of weapons during the reign of King Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the internal security law during the reign of King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The documents also cover aspects of the course of Public Security, regulations governing weapons possession and requirements for military service during the reign of King Abdulaziz Al Saud; the establishment of the army general staff during the reign of King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; the renaming of the early Public Prosecution to the Ministry of Interior; and the formation of forces to maintain security during the reign of King Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The pavilion also displays historical issues of Umm Al-Qura and archival photographs documenting key moments in the Kingdom's security history.
It highlights the role of the national media in preserving the country's historical memory and documenting the development of the state and its institutions and security systems.
