Sheikh Al-Sudais Urges Pilgrims to Recite Talbiyah Frequently Until Stoning of Jamrat Al-Aqaba

Makkah: President of the Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais has urged pilgrims to frequently recite the Talbiyah (a devotional prayer uttered by pilgrims as they perform Hajj) from the moment they enter the state of ihram for Hajj until they begin stoning Jamrat Al-Aqaba on Eid day.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in guidance issued for the Day of Tarwiyah, Sheikh Al-Sudais emphasized the importance of following prophetic tradition by washing, cleansing, and using perfume before entering ihram. Male pilgrims are instructed to wear the traditional izar and rida' (two unstitched pieces of white cloth), while women may wear any modest, covering attire, avoiding the niqab and gloves.

He explained that pilgrims intending to offer the hady (sacrificial animal) may enter ihram for Hajj from wherever they are staying, whether in Makkah or elsewhere. For those performing Ifrad (performing only Hajj) and Qiran (combining Hajj and Umrah together), it is sufficient to remain in their original ihram and renew their intention for Hajj in their hearts.

Sheikh Al-Sudais also advised pilgrims to proceed to Mina before noon on the Day of Tarwiyah, though he clarified that there is no blame if they depart later. Pilgrims may pray Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr in Mina. He recommended performing prayers at their prescribed times, shortening them without combining them, except for Maghrib and Fajr, which are to be prayed in full by both residents of Makkah and visitors alike.

He concluded by encouraging pilgrims to spend the night in Mina before the Day of Arafah, engaging in prayer and supplication, and asking Allah to accept their rituals and grant them an accepted Hajj.
