Riyadh: Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) Chief Executive Dr. Hisham Aljadhey launched an AI-powered model for predicting drug shortages in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The launch, which took place during the Global Health Exhibition from October 27 to 30, highlights the SFDA's commitment to enhance drug monitoring and proactively address any potential shortages.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the artificial-intelligence (AI) model is one of the first innovative smart solutions globally designed for predicting drug shortages. It relies on advanced algorithms to continuously analyze historical data for each drug, generating accurate predictions that facilitate immediate decision-making to prevent any potential shortages.

The initiative represents a transformative leap in the national drug security system, contributing to increased efficiency in supply-chain management and ensuring that medications reach patients in a timely manner.
