SFD to Equip King Abdullah Hospital at Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain

Bahrain: The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to finance a project aimed at equipping King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz hospital at the university. The project is valued at over $11.5 million.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU was signed by SFD Chief Executive Sultan Al-Marshad and university president Dr. Saad Al Fuhaid. The signing ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, was attended by Bahraini Minister of Education Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma.

This agreement is part of Saudi Arabia's grant, provided through the SFD, to fund the construction of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Medical City affiliated with the AGU. The total allocation for the medical city stands at SAR1 billion.

The project focuses on equipping the hospital with an advanced information-technology (IT) system and non-medical furnishings. This will ensure comprehensive operation for the medical city and enhance its efficiency in alignment with its developmental objectives.

The initiative underscores the SFD's commitment to the healthcare sector as a vital component of sustainable development, contributing to the integrated advancement of other sectors in pursuit of a prosperous future.
