Riyadh: Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Chief Executive Officer Sultan Al-Marshad signed a development loan agreement valued at $50 million with Chadian Minister of Finance, Budget, Economy, Planning and International Cooperation Tahir Hamid Nguilin. This agreement aims to finance the construction and equipping of a cardiac center at Al-Nahda Hospital in the Republic of Chad.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the project intends to bolster the healthcare infrastructure in Chad by establishing a four-story cardiovascular center spanning 20,000 square meters with a capacity of 90 beds. The initiative is expected to enhance specialized care, reduce heart-related mortality rates, support the localization of cardiac surgeries, and contribute to the training of health students and medical personnel.
The agreement is a part of SFD's ongoing development efforts in Chad, which began in 1976. Over the years, SFD has financed six development projects and programs through concessional loans exceeding $131 million, aiming to support sustainable social and economic development in the region.
