Nicaragua, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Sultan Al-Marshad has signed the first development loan agreement worth $103 million with the Vice Minister of Finance and Public Credit of Nicaragua, Bruno Gallardo, to finance the construction and equipment of the Carlos Centeno Hospital in Las Minas. Nicaraguan Minister of Finance and Public Credit Ivan Acosta, Minister of Health Martha Reyes and Deputy Saudi Ambassador to Mexico Sultan Al-Muzaini attended the signing ceremony. The agreement entails building a 25,000-square-meter hospital with a capacity of over 300 beds to serve various neighbouring regions. The hospital will provide comprehensive healthcare services, including] surgery clinics, emergency departments, children's vaccinations, and facilities to train and qualify medical staff. The agreement is part of SFD's endeavours to support developmental efforts in various developing countries. It also underscores SFD's keenness to help Nicaragua overcome economic and development challenges a nd emphasizes the importance of international cooperation and solidarity in pursuing sustainable development goals.
